Reliable Choice

If you walk down SV Road in Goregaon West, you'll find us at Shop No 180. It’s not the biggest place, but we’ve squeezed a lot into the space we have over the years. I’ve been working here for a long time, and the street has changed so much since I first opened the door. We called the place Reliable Choice because it sounded okay, though names don't matter as much as just showing up every morning at the same time. I usually open around ten, maybe a bit later if the train is delayed or the rain is heavy. It gets quite dusty here with all the cars passing by outside, so I spend a lot of my morning just wiping down the counters with an old cloth. We sell various bits and pieces that people need for their homes. I don't really have a big staff, just me and occasionally a cousin who helps out when it gets busy. People stop in while they’re out doing their regular shopping. Some customers stay and chat for twenty minutes about their kids or the price of vegetables, which is fine by me. It makes the day go faster. I keep a small diary to write down what people are asking for so I don't forget to order things for the next week. Sometimes I get the wrong stuff, but I try to fix it. It's just a regular local shop. We aren't trying to be anything more than that.
