Rare Acrylics is located down at 24 Bapu Khote Street in the Jamli Gali area of Mandvi. If you have ever been to Mandvi, you know how narrow the lanes are and how many people are always rushing around. Our shop is right in the middle of all that chaos. We work with acrylic sheets all day, cutting them to size and sticking pieces together for different jobs. There is always a lot of scrap material lying on the floor and fine dust that gets on everything including our tea. It is a small space, so we have to be very careful when moving the large sheets around so they don't get scratched or cracked. The smell of the chemicals we use for bonding is quite strong, but you stop noticing it after an hour or so. We aren't a big factory, just a few guys with some saws and some glue. People come to us from all over the market when they need a display box or a sign made out of plastic. It is a noisy street with carts going by and people shouting, but it feels like home to us. We’ve been in Jamli Gali for years and we have seen the neighborhood change a lot, though our shop stays pretty much the same. We don't have a website; people usually just find us by asking around the street. We just keep cutting the sheets until the sun goes down.
