Raj Engineering

Raj Engineering is tucked away in the Shukla Compound in Dahisar East. It’s right opposite the Western Express Highway, so the noise of the traffic is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We are in Gananjay CHS, Sector 5. Our workshop is at 37/2, and it’s usually filled with the sound of grinding and metal work. It’s a bit of a maze getting here if you don’t know the Charop Kandavali area well. The compound has a lot of other small units too, so there is always some activity happening. We mostly handle small engineering jobs and custom metal parts for local contractors. It’s sweaty work, especially in the summers when the tin roof gets hot. We don't have a big office or a reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find us on the shop floor with grease on our hands. We keep our tools organized as much as possible, but in a small space like this, things tend to pile up. The Western Express is convenient for getting our finished work out to clients in other parts of Mumbai, even if the traffic is a nightmare during peak hours. We’ve been in this spot for a long time and the neighbors are all like family. It’s a simple operation where we focus on getting the dimensions right and finishing the jobs on time so the next one can come in.
