About Radhika Mobile Gallery Communication Centre – Telecom in Mumbai
If you come to Kalbadevi, you know how crowded Babu Genu Road gets. We are at number 89. Radhika Mobile Gallery Communication Centre is a long name for a shop that’s actually quite narrow inside. We have glass counters filled with phones and all the little accessories that go with them. It’s always loud here because of the market outside. People are constantly shouting or honking their horns. Inside, I’m usually helping someone figure out why their phone won't charge or selling a new SIM card. I started this because I liked gadgets, but now it's just a lot of repeating the same instructions to people who aren't good with technology. I don't mind it much. It’s good to talk to different people every day. We also have a small area for "communication center" stuff, which mostly means helping people with prints or online forms. The air conditioning in here struggles when the shop gets full of customers. I often have to tell people to wait their turn because I only have two hands. It’s a bit chaotic, but that’s just how Kalbadevi is. I usually have a cup of tea sitting half-finished on a shelf somewhere. By the time I close up at night, I’m exhausted, but it’s a good kind of tired. We just try to keep things running for the local folks. It’s a busy life, but it keeps me out of trouble.
