Raas Architect & Interior Designers

Our office is in the Chokshi Building, which is B/3 on Gamdevi Road. We are right in the heart of Mumbai, specifically in the Gamdevi area near the telephone exchange. It is a bit of an old-school building, which we actually like. We go by Raas Architect & Interior Designers, but really we are just a small group of people who spend our days hunched over drawing boards or computer screens. Mumbai is a place where every inch of space counts, so we spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to make small rooms feel a bit bigger. It is a constant puzzle. We don't have a polished corporate office with a receptionist; you just walk in and see us working. The neighborhood is full of history and the streets are narrow, so we do a lot of walking to our project sites nearby. Sometimes we are dealing with architects' plans and other times we are picking out fabrics or wood finishes for an interior. It is a mix of technical work and just using our eyes to see what looks right. We have been based here for a bit, and we know the local shops and contractors well. We aren't interested in being some huge firm. We just want to do good work for the people who live in this part of Mumbai 400007 and make their living spaces a bit more comfortable.
