Vikatt Design Build Studio Architect

Our studio, Vikatt Design Build Studio Architect, is located at 114A in the Laxmi Niwas Apartment. We are down on Pakhari Lane in Worli Village, which is a bit of an older, more traditional part of Mumbai. It’s a unique spot to work from, away from the big glass towers but still right in the heart of the city. We handle the whole process from the first sketch to the final construction. It’s a lot to manage, and our office is usually a bit of a mess because of it. We have architectural drawings mixed with samples of tiles, wood, and paint colors. Mumbai is a challenging place to build because space is so tight and the rules are always changing. We spend a lot of time navigating those hurdles. We aren't a big, polished firm. We are just a few people who like the process of creating something from nothing. Being in Worli Village gives us a good perspective on how people actually live in this city. We don't use any fancy mission statements or corporate buzzwords. We just talk to our clients like regular people and try to build what they need. Sometimes the monsoons slow everything down, and we just have to wait it out. It’s a practical, hands-on way of working. We enjoy the variety of projects we get, from small apartment interiors to larger structural builds around the Worli area.
