Our office is right in the middle of Fort, on the 9th floor of New Harileela House. Being near the GPO makes it easy for people to find the general area, though the streets around here are always packed with people and vendors. It’s an old building, so the lift can be a little slow during lunch hours, but it gets you up here eventually. From the 9th floor, we actually get a decent view of the rooftops in this part of Mumbai. We’ve been here for a while as Quadrate Financial Advisors. It’s a busy place with papers everywhere and phones ringing quite often. We don’t really bother with expensive decorations or matching furniture because we’re too busy with the work itself. Most of the staff has been together for years, so we all know how the others work. We go out for lunch at the local stalls nearby or just bring tiffin from home. The atmosphere is pretty casual once you get inside, even if the building looks a bit serious from the outside. People come in and out all day for meetings or just to drop off documents. We try to keep things moving so nobody has to wait too long. It’s a lot of number-crunching and looking at screens. We just do our bit every day and head home when the sun goes down and the traffic settles.
