Ravi Apartments has been where I’ve run things for a while now. Being in B/303 up in Mulund West means I get to avoid a lot of the travel that usually comes with having a business. It’s a standard residential building, so it feels very much like a home office setup. I spend a lot of time at this desk checking through orders and talking to people on the phone. Mulund is a busy place, but this corner of it is alright. Most of my neighbors know what I do and they’re used to seeing delivery guys coming and going. I don’t have a big team or anything, it’s mostly just me making sure the day-to-day stuff doesn’t fall behind. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded with all the samples and paperwork lying around, but I know where everything is. You learn to make the most of the space you have in a Mumbai flat. It’s practical. I don’t see the point in having a fancy showroom when most of the work happens behind a computer anyway. If someone needs to meet, they just come up to the third floor. It’s a straightforward way to work and it keeps the costs down for everyone involved. The building is older but it’s sturdy and has a good vibe to it. It’s been a reliable place for Purvi Hitesh Thakkar to operate from day in and day out without much fuss.
