Down in Dahisar East, Mumbai, we have our Prism Cement office at B-206, Ekta Apartment. This is part of the Ashish Complex, specifically in Building Number 10 on C.S. Road. If you know Mumbai, you already know how crowded and fast-paced Dahisar can be most of the time. The apartment complex is quite large, and there are people coming and going at all hours. Our workspace is tucked away on the second floor. It is a regular apartment that we have turned into a place for work. It has that typical Mumbai feel where every inch of space is used for something or other. We have files stacked up and desks squeezed in wherever they would fit. From the window, you can see all the other buildings in the complex and the busy life going on below. We handle the logistical side of the cement business from this location. It involves a lot of phone calls and coordinating with drivers who are trying to navigate through the heavy Mumbai traffic. It is never a quiet day here. We usually have a radio playing in the background to drown out some of the noise from the street. We don’t have any big corporate signs out front, just a small nameplate on the door. It is a very local way of doing things, focusing on the work rather than how things look.
