We are based on the third floor of Karani Niwas at Masjid Bunder. Our space is room 307. It stays pretty busy here most days because of where we are located. The stairs are narrow and people are always moving goods up and down. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking through papers at our desks. There is always the sound of traffic and carts from the street outside. It gets a bit dusty with all the trade activity in this part of town. Sometimes we have tea brought up from the stall downstairs while we handle the daily lists. We’ve been in this building for a while now. It is a practical office, not fancy at all. There are stacks of files and the usual office stuff everywhere. We just get on with the work that needs doing. Dealing with suppliers and transport takes up most of our hours. You can hear the market noise through the windows all afternoon. It’s a very typical Masjid Bunder scene with lots of energy and people shouting to get things moved. We just keep our heads down and manage the logistics. It is a small team here and we know the neighborhood very well by now.
