Prashant Asher

Prashant Asher is based out of the Fort area. If you’ve spent any time in South Mumbai, you know how different it feels from the rest of the city. The buildings are old and have those high ceilings and thick walls. It’s a very prestigious spot, but it’s also quite cramped and busy in its own way. My office is tucked into one of these historic blocks. There’s always the sound of people walking on the pavement and the distant honking of cars. It’s not like the modern suburbs with their shiny malls. Here, everything feels like it has a history. I spend my days surrounded by files and paperwork. The lighting isn't always perfect and sometimes the elevators in these old buildings are a bit slow, so I often just take the stairs. It’s a very grounded way to work. I’ve been in this area for a long time, so I’ve seen the shops change and the crowds grow. Lunchtime is the busiest when everyone comes out into the narrow lanes for food. I don't really have a big team or a fancy lobby. It's just me and the work I do here in the heart of the city. I prefer it this way because everything is within reach and there’s a sense of discipline in the air. It’s just a regular office life in a very old, busy part of town.
