Prashant Art Jewellery

Our shop is D/02 in the Brahmagiri Chs Ltd building, located on Plot No. 3 in Ganesh Nagar. We are right in Kandivali West, very close to the BMC Hospital. It’s a busy neighborhood with lots of people walking by all the time. Prashant Art Jewellery is a small place. We have glass counters filled with different types of jewelry, but it’s not very organized. We just put things where they fit. I’ve been working here since I was much younger. The space is a bit cramped, especially when we have more than two customers inside at once. We do repairs too, so there’s usually a workbench with tiny tools and a magnifying glass sitting in the corner. Being near the hospital means there’s always activity outside. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just try to make jewelry that looks nice for the local festivals and weddings. Sometimes we have a cup of tea while we talk to the regulars who live in the building. It’s a simple life. We don’t spend money on advertising, we just rely on the people in Ganesh Nagar knowing we are here. If the light is out in the shop, it means I’ve stepped out to the market for a bit. The walls are covered with old calendars and a few photos of the family. We use a small hand-held scale for weighing the metal. It’s been our way of working for a long time now. Just staying honest.
