If you find yourself on Dr M Bvelkar Street in Kalbadevi, you will see the Morarji Velji Building. Our spot is Room No 2 on the 7 A side. It is a very busy part of town, always people moving boxes or carts around. We are right across from the New Halai Bhatia Mahajan Wadi, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. This is where Ila Viren Kapadia operates from. The office isn't much to talk about, just a functional space with some chairs and desks where we get the daily work done. Living and working in Kalbadevi means you deal with the noise and the narrow lanes every single day. It is just the way it is here. We have been in this building for quite a bit of time now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the paperwork to worry about that. People stop by to discuss things or just to drop off files. We don't have any fancy receptionists or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever is available. It is a very direct way of doing things, which suits the neighborhood. The heat can get a bit much in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. It's a humble setup but it works for what we do here. Most of our day is spent handling requests.
