Praise Pineapple Farms

Out here at Praise Pineapple Farms on the Pune Link Road in Kalyan, things usually start pretty early. We are located in the Katemanivali area, which isn't too far from the Vitthalwadi Railway Station in Kalyan. Being close to the station means we hear the trains fairly often, and it’s a sound we’ve gotten used to over the years. The farm work involves a lot of time outside, and we spend our days dealing with the plants and the soil in the 421304 area. It's not a desk job by any means. Our hands are usually dirty, and there’s always something that needs to be moved or checked on. We’ve been here in Thane for quite a while now. The road out front gets a fair amount of traffic, especially with people heading toward the link road. When the pineapples are ready, there’s a lot of lifting and sorting to do. We aren't a massive operation with hundreds of people, just a local group working the land and getting the fruit out to where it needs to go. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate, or things don't grow exactly how we planned, but that's just farming for you. We just keep at it and make sure we’re ready for whatever the day brings. It’s a simple way of living, really. People stop by sometimes, and we’re usually around the sheds or out in the rows working.
