Muniyal Ayurveda

Muniyal Ayurveda is based out of No. 1 Ganesh Compound. It’s a simple setup. The compound itself is shared with a few other businesses, so there is usually some activity in the yard. We deal with Ayurvedic products, so the air inside often has a faint smell of herbs and dried roots. It’s a very different smell from the usual city odors. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s mostly a place where we store our products and get them ready to be sent out. The walls are painted a plain white and have some marks from where boxes have been stacked over the years. We have a few desks for the paperwork and a small area where we can sit and talk. The gate to the compound is usually left open during the day. It’s a practical way to work. We don’t spend money on expensive furniture or decorations. We just focus on making sure the orders are correct and the stock is handled properly. Most of the people working here have a good understanding of the different herbs we use. We take our breaks together and usually talk about local things. It’s a relaxed environment, not like those high-pressure offices in the big glass buildings. We like it this way. It feels more real and connected to what we are actually doing. The rain sounds quite loud on the roof during monsoon, which is something we've all gotten used to.
