Poly Star Plastic Industries

Our place, Poly Star Plastic Industries, is situated in Andheri East. We are located on 2nd Main in the Vidyaranyanagar area. It’s more of an industrial setting than a shopping one. We have machines running most of the day, so there’s always a bit of a background thrum in the building. We’ve been working with plastics for a good number of years now. The space in Vidyaranyanagar is where everything happens, from the raw material arriving to the finished bits being boxed up. It’s a functional space. We don't have any art on the walls or fancy furniture in the office area. It’s mostly just metal tables and heavy-duty shelving. Andheri East is a massive area, but our little corner of 2nd Main feels like its own small world. We know the guys at the gate and the delivery drivers who come by every week. We aren't trying to change the world. We just make plastic goods that people need. Sometimes the production line has a hiccup and we have to spend all night fixing it. That’s just part of the industry. We keep things simple and keep the work moving. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s steady. We’re just here doing our bit every day. The rain gets quite loud on the tin roof during the monsoon, but we just keep the machines going regardless. It’s just how it is.
