Our little place is called Phone Shope and you can find us at Shop 3 in the Colaba Po Industrial Area. Being in an industrial zone means our customers are mostly people working nearby or folks who know the area well. It’s not like those shiny mobile stores you see in the big malls. We have a counter, some glass cases that are always getting fingerprints on them, and a lot of tools for taking things apart. The lighting inside is a bit bright because we need to see those tiny screws and parts when we’re working on a device. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a rattling sound that we’ve just learned to ignore over the months. We have boxes of chargers and cables hanging on the walls, and they often get a bit tangled. It’s a small shop, so if three or four people come in at once, it feels very crowded. We spend most of the day looking through magnifying glasses or trying to get a screen to sit just right. It can be tedious work. We don't have a big staff, usually just one or two of us behind the counter. Sometimes we run out of a certain part and have to wait for the delivery guy to show up, which slows things down and makes the customers wait. We just try to keep things moving and help out whoever walks in from the street. It’s a basic shop for people who just want their phones looked at without any fuss.
