About Pashupati Traders – Agriculture & Farming in Mumbai
Raj Mahal is a beautiful old building on Veer Nariman Road, right in the heart of Churchgate. We are up on the third floor, and you can almost feel the history of the place in the high ceilings and the thick walls. Being so close to the station, the rhythm of our day is set by the trains. You hear the crowds outside and the constant honking of the yellow and black taxis. Our office is a bit cramped because we have so many files and samples tucked into every corner. It is a busy trading environment, so there is always someone coming in to discuss a deal or check on a shipment. We have a view of the street, and sometimes I just watch the people rushing by while I am on a long phone call. The wooden floorboards creak when you walk, which adds to the character of the place. We do not have any modern glass partitions; it is just one big room where everyone can hear everyone else. It gets quite lively during the peak hours of the morning. We usually get our tea from a man who brings it around in small glass cups, and we drink it while standing up because there is no room to sit. It is a bit of a frantic pace, but that is just how trading in Mumbai is. We have been at 84 Veer Nariman Road for years and we wouldn't know how to work anywhere else.
