Sai Tractor Corporation

Sai Tractor Corporation has been based out of Chawl 105 in Vakola for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot near Tabala and things can get pretty cramped around the workshop. We mostly deal with parts and getting things fixed for the people who come by. It’s not a shiny office or anything like that. We have tools scattered around and grease on our hands most of the day. Working in Vakola means you get used to the noise and the constant movement of people through the chawl. Sometimes it feels like we’ve been in this one spot forever. We know all the neighbors and the guys at the tea stall nearby. It’s a simple setup. We open early because that’s when the work needs doing. If a tractor part isn’t right, we spend the afternoon trying to find a match or making it work. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. The 105 unit is where we spend basically all our waking hours. Some days are slower than others but there is always a ledger to update or a shelf to reorganize. We don't bother with fancy signs or anything. People know where we are if they need help with their machinery. It’s just us here, doing what we’ve always done. No more, no less. It gets hot in the summer but we just keep the fans going and stay on task until the sun goes down and we head home for the night.
