Paramount Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Co.

Paramount Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Co. is tucked away in the Deghamwala Building on Nesbit Road. We are at Shop No. 12, which isn't very large, especially when we have a few big fridge units sitting on the floor waiting for repair. Mazgaon is a crowded place, and our street is always full of people and cars heading toward the station. We have been here for a good while, and the walls of the shop are covered with tools and old parts we’ve collected over the years. It usually smells like oil and metal in here, which I guess is normal for a repair shop. We don’t have any corporate uniforms or fancy signs. Most of our work happens at the customer’s house anyway, but this shop is where we do the heavy engineering. The neighbors are mostly other small business owners, and we all know each other. When the monsoon hits, Nesbit Road gets a bit messy, but we keep working through it. It’s an honest way to make a living. We just fix things like air conditioners and old refrigerators that people don't want to give up on. You can usually find me sitting on a stool near the front door during the quiet moments. We are just local people doing our job in this corner of Mumbai without much fuss.
