Pan Liner

Our spot is at 114/116 Mody Street, right in the heart of the Fort area. If you’ve ever walked around South Mumbai, you know how narrow these streets are and how the old buildings lean in over you. Pan Liner has been here for years, squeezed between other shops and offices. The building is one of those tall, old structures with high ceilings and heavy wooden doors. Inside, it’s mostly just stacks of liners and materials we use for our work. It’s always a bit dark because the sunlight doesn't quite reach down into the street level. We get a lot of noise from the street—horns honking and people shouting—but after a while, you just stop hearing it. We spend most of our time measuring and cutting things to size. There’s not much room to move around when we have a lot of stock, so we have to be careful not to trip over anything. The stairs up to the office are steep and narrow. We don’t really have a fancy reception desk or anything. It’s just a counter where we talk to customers and take orders. Most of our business comes from people who have been dealing with us for a long time. They know where to find us in the maze of Mody Street. It’s a busy, cramped way to work, but it’s how things are in Fort. We just keep moving.
