Onida

Our place is located at 5 9 Kh Dibe Estate in Shyam Nagar, which is right in Jogeshwari East. If you know Mumbai, you know this area is always moving and there's never a quiet moment. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a good while now, handling all sorts of things for Onida. The estate itself is quite old, and we've seen the neighborhood change quite a bit around us. We have a lot of stuff coming in and out every day, mostly electronics and parts that need looking at. It's not a showroom where everything is shiny; it's more of a workspace where real work gets done. There are boxes piled up in corners and technicians usually have their hands full with something or the other. We don't really have a fancy sign outside, just enough so people know they’re at the right door. The tea stall nearby is where we usually take our breaks when things get too hectic. Dealing with repairs and technical stuff means there's always a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. People from all over Mumbai come here because they’ve had their TV or appliance for years and want to keep it running. We don't try to sell you new things you don't need; we just look at what's broken. It's a crowded part of Shyam Nagar, but it feels like home to us.
