Nova Plast Industries Pvt Ltd is tucked away in Prashant Chambers, right there at number 305 in Masjid Bunder West. Being on the third floor means we spend a lot of time waiting for the lift, which is usually broken or occupied by someone moving heavy crates. The office is always full of the smell of plastic samples and old paper. We’ve been at this for years, dealing with the manufacturing side of things and trying to coordinate with the factory guys. It’s a lot of phone calls and shouting over the street noise from Bhand street down below. My dad started this company, and now I’m the one sitting at the big desk trying to make sense of the bills. It’s not always easy keeping everything running smoothly, especially when the power goes out or a shipment gets stuck at the docks. We don't have any fancy brochures to give out. If someone wants to know what we do, they usually just come in and we show them the latest batch of whatever we’ve made. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the tea guy is always late, but we get the work done eventually. It’s just a regular family-run industrial business trying to survive the daily grind in one of the busiest parts of the city. We keep the doors open and do our best every single week.
