Our small office is at 216/22 in Andheri East. It is not a very big place, just enough for a few desks and a bench for people to sit on while they wait. Even though the name sounds like the big website, we are just a local operation here at Noukri Com trying to help people find work nearby. Andheri East is a hub for so many businesses, so it made sense to set up right here. The walls are a bit plain, maybe they could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We spend most of our day looking through listings and talking to local managers who need staff for their shops or warehouses. It can be a bit stressful when someone really needs a job and there isn't much available that week. We have an old computer that takes forever to start up, so we usually get the tea going while we wait for it. There is a lot of paper everywhere—resumes, notes, phone numbers. We try to keep it organized but it’s a constant battle. Most of our visitors are young guys from the neighborhood looking for their first break. We just listen to what they can do and try to point them in the right direction. It's hard work but it feels good when someone calls back to say they got the spot and they're starting next Monday.
