My space is at 23/201 in Amar Mahal, specifically in Dalal Sadan. It’s a familiar spot for anyone who lives in this part of the city. Amar Mahal is always buzzing, especially with the flyover and all the traffic coming from the highway. Dalal Sadan is an older building, the kind where you know your neighbors and people stop to talk in the hallways. The room is 201, so it’s not too many stairs up. It’s a very straightforward place. I have my desk, some books, and a computer. I don’t go in for fancy decorations or expensive stuff. I think a workspace should be for working. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy from the junction nearby, but you stop hearing it after a while. I’ve been based here for some time now. The commute isn't too bad if you time it right with the signals. There’s a small place nearby where I get my lunch most days. The walls are a bit thin, so I can hear when the family next door is having a big dinner, but that’s just part of being in an old Mumbai building. It feels solid and real. I like being in Amar Mahal because it’s connected to everything. It’s not some polished corporate park, it’s a real building with real history. I just do my work here and try to keep things moving along day by day. It is just me in a regular room.
