We set up New Style Furniture over in Kurla East on 1St Main quite some time ago. It’s a busy neighborhood, and we are right in the thick of it. Our place is full of the smell of wood and finish most of the time. It is not one of those polished showrooms you see in a mall. There is sawdust on the floor and tools scattered across the workbenches. We like it that way because it shows we are actually making things. We spend our days measuring, cutting, and putting pieces together. Sometimes things don't go perfectly on the first try, so we have to adjust and fix as we go. That is just how furniture making works. We aren't a big factory; we are just a small group of people who know how to handle a hammer and saw. The space can get a bit loud when the machines are running, but the neighbors are used to it by now. We don't bother with fancy catalogs or sales pitches. People usually just wander in from the street because they saw something we were working on. We tell them what’s what and how much it costs. No hidden fees or corporate talk here. We just want to make stuff that stays together and looks decent in a home. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours on our feet, but we enjoy being part of the Kurla community. We just keep crafting.
