National Mobile Centre

Setting up shop in Bandra West 7 was a bit of a gamble years ago, but we’ve stuck it out. The space is tight, and we usually have boxes stacked up in the corner because there is never enough storage. It’s mostly just us fixing cracked screens and trying to figure out why someone's battery won't hold a charge anymore. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people rushing to work, so the door stays open to catch a breeze. We have a couple of stools for customers, though they usually end up standing and chatting while we work on their devices. It’s not a polished showroom. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint and the floor has some scuffs from moving heavy display cases around. We mostly deal with locals who have been coming to us since they got their first basic mobile. Sometimes we run out of specific parts and have to wait for the delivery guy to fight through traffic, which can be frustrating for everyone. We just do the work, count the cash at the end of the day, and lock up. It's a simple routine. There are plenty of bigger shops around, but people seem to like that they can just walk in and talk to us directly without any fuss. We have been here for a long time and we plan to stay as long as people still need their phones fixed.
