If you find yourself on L. B. S. Marg in Mulund West, you’ll see the Nirmal Galaxy building. We are up on the third floor of the Avior wing, in room 312. Jyoti Agro Feeds is basically a group of people trying to manage the supply of animal feed. It’s a busy part of Mumbai, right opposite the big Johnson & Johnson plant, so there’s always noise from the traffic outside. The office isn't huge, but we make it work. Most of our day is spent on the computer or the phone, tracking where the trucks are and checking the quality of the grains. It’s not glamorous work. Sometimes the elevator in the building takes forever, which is a bit of a daily annoyance. We get a mix of people coming in—suppliers, transport contractors, and sometimes a few local customers. It’s a tight-knit team. We eat lunch together and complain about the heat or the rain like everyone else. The paperwork for agro-feeds can be a bit thick, so there’s always a stack of papers on someone’s desk waiting for a signature. We focus on the practical side of things. There’s no fancy lobby or anything like that. Just desks, chairs, and a lot of focus on getting the feed out to the farms on time. It feels like a real local business because that’s exactly what it is. We just keep things moving as best as we can.
