Moosa Sons has been on the ground floor in Fort for quite some time. The building is old, like most things in this part of town, with those thick walls that keep it a little cooler than the street outside. We have a lot of stuff piled up inside, from old records to paper and things people might need for their offices nearby. Being on the ground floor means we see everyone walking by on their way to the banks or the courts. The dust settles on the glass pretty fast, so we have to wipe it down more often than we’d like. It’s a family-run thing, and we just keep the doors open from morning until the sun goes down behind the tall buildings. Sometimes students come in looking for something specific, and other times it’s just tourists who got lost looking for the station. We don't have a website or anything like that, we just rely on the sign outside and the fact that we’ve been here so long. The floor is made of that old stone that stays dark even when you scrub it. We sit on the wooden stools near the counter and wait for the bell to ring when someone pushes the door. It’s a steady pace of life in Fort. You hear the horns and the buses all day long, but inside it’s a bit more quiet. We just handle the daily business as it comes and try to keep things organized.
