Modern Stores is the name on our door at 2/194 in Wadala. Despite the name, we are actually quite an old-fashioned neighborhood shop. We’ve been in this corner of Wadala for a very long time. It’s a small space, but we try to keep it stocked with the basics that people around here need every day. Our shelves are usually pretty full, sometimes a bit messy, but we know where everything is. It’s just a regular storefront where you can pop in and grab what you need. We don't have any self-checkout or fancy displays. It’s just us behind the counter. We see the same faces every morning and evening. Some people have been coming here since they were kids. It’s a quiet life, mostly just stocking shelves and talking to the neighbors. Wadala is a nice place to have a shop like this because people still value a local spot. We aren't trying to be a big supermarket. We just want to be here when someone runs out of something at home. The building 2/194 isn't much to look at, but it's home to us. We open the shutters early and stay open until the street gets quiet. It’s been our routine for years and we don't plan on changing it. Just a simple store for simple needs. We don't need any big signs to tell people what we do. We’re just here when you need some eggs or milk.
