Milan Arts Jewellery

Our workshop is at 8 Babu Wange Chawl in the village area of Malad East. It is a very traditional setup inside the chawl. We work on art jewelry here every day. The space is small, like most places in the chawl, so we have to be very organized with our tools and materials. It is a close-knit community here. You can hear the neighbors talking and the kids playing outside while we are working on the jewelry pieces. We don't have a storefront with big glass windows. It is more of a place where the actual work happens. We sit on the floor or at small low tables to do the fine work. Malad East is a busy part of town but inside the chawl, it feels a bit different, more like a small village tucked away. We have been doing this for many years now. Most of our customers are people who have known us for a long time or were sent by friends. We don't do any big promotions or ads. We just keep our heads down and focus on the jewelry we have to finish. It is a lot of sitting and focusing on small details, but we are used to it by now. It is just how we live and work here. We usually close up when the sun goes down and the lights in the chawl come on.
