We are located in Mittal Towers, specifically in the A Wing at Nariman Point. It’s right across from Vidhan Bhavan. Being in this part of town means things are always quite busy. There’s a lot of history in these buildings. Our office at number 53 is full of files and desks that have been here for years. It’s not one of those modern glass offices with fancy coffee machines. We have a kettle and some old chairs. We spend our days working through papers and taking meetings with people who come by. You can see the traffic and the people heading toward the government buildings from the windows. It’s a very formal area, but inside our office, it’s a bit more relaxed. We know our neighbors and the people who work the lifts. Most of our work involves a lot of reading and writing. It’s the kind of place where things get done steadily. We don’t rush through things. We’ve been here a long time and have seen Nariman Point change quite a bit over the decades. The phones ring quite often and there’s always someone coming in with a folder of documents. We just keep our heads down and work through the pile. It’s a quiet sort of professional life, focused on the details and making sure every page is in the right place before we leave for the day. Sometimes the elevator takes forever, but we just wait and chat.
