Manubhai Company / Plastica

Manubhai Company, which also goes by the name Plastica, is situated in the heart of Kalbadevi. Our address is 94 Vitthal Wadi, near the Kanara Bank building. If you know Kalbadevi, you know how incredibly crowded and noisy it gets with all the traders and handcarts. We have been in this old building for decades. The ceilings are high but the rooms are narrow and filled to the brim with plastic raw materials. We mostly do wholesale trading, so our days are spent negotiating prices and making sure the sacks of material are moved in and out of the narrow lanes. It is a very traditional way of doing business. We still use physical registers for a lot of our accounts because that is how we have always done it. The office area is just a small partitioned space with a wooden desk and a few old chairs for visitors. There is always a lot of shouting and honking going on outside in Vitthal Wadi, but we are used to it by now. We know the other merchants on the street well, and we often share tea in the afternoons. It is not a modern or sleek operation, but it works for us. We have built a lot of long-term relationships here over the years. People know they can find us in the same spot we have been for a generation.
