People usually find us easily on S G Highway because of the wood piles we keep outside the shop. We have been here at number 18 in Chembur for quite a while now. The workshop is small and it smells like cedar and varnish most days. It gets a bit messy when we are in the middle of a big project and there are shavings all over the floor. My hands are usually covered in sawdust by noon. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just some old fans that keep the air moving so we don't sweat too much. If you walk past, you’ll see us measuring planks or sanding down edges. It’s hard work on the back, but it keeps us busy. My uncle started this place years ago and I just took over when he retired. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just do the work as it comes in. Sometimes customers come in with photos they found on their phones of what they want. We try to figure out if we can make it with the wood we have in stock. The traffic on the highway is always loud, so we usually have to shout a bit to be heard over the trucks. It isn’t a quiet office job by any means. We use old tools that have been around for twenty years. Most people in the neighborhood know where we are. We just open the shutters and stay until dark.
