Malwa Traders

We are located in Devidass Mansion, which is one of those older buildings you find in Colaba. It has a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you’re carrying heavy bags. Being on Mereweather Road means we are close to the water, so you get that salty air coming through the windows when the breeze is right. The office itself is a bit cramped. We have wooden desks that have been here since before I started, and the floorboards creak in certain spots. Trading is mostly about being on the phone and keeping track of who owes what. It’s a lot of lists and old ledgers scattered around. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one by the door. Colaba is always moving, with tourists and locals everywhere, but inside the mansion, it feels a bit slower. We have a small corner for making tea, and that’s usually where the best conversations happen. Sometimes we watch the rain come down on the street below and wait for the traffic to clear up before we head home. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a few of us making sure the goods get where they need to go. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and even though the walls are peeling a bit, it feels like home to us.
