Soni Bangles

Our small business is based in Room No. 4 of Dhaxabai Chaawl in Raipada, Malad West. It is a very traditional setup, right in the heart of the chawl. Our room is small and packed with boxes of bangles in every color you can think of. It is not like the big stores in the malls. Here, the space is tight and we have to be careful when moving around so we don't knock anything over. The light comes in through the door and one small window. It is a bit humble, but it is where we do our work every day. Raipada is a lively area, and there is always some noise from the neighbors or kids playing outside in the hallway. We have been selling bangles here for a long time. People from the nearby buildings come to us when they need something for a wedding or just for daily wear. We don't have a website or a fancy catalog. You just come in, look at what we have on the shelves, and pick what you like. It is a very simple way of doing things. Sometimes it gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we sit near the fan and sort through the new stock. It’s just a small, local room where we keep the tradition of selling bangles alive.
