Mahavir Umbrella Mart Abhishek Enterprise

Our shop is located in Kalbadevi, specifically at Shop No 69/70 in Building 1/3. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we have umbrellas stacked from the floor to the ceiling. If you know Kalbadevi, you know how crowded the lanes get, especially during the monsoon season. We started Mahavir Umbrella Mart as a small family thing. We handle all sorts of umbrellas, the big ones for stalls and the little ones that fold up into your bag. Sometimes the handles break or the fabric gets a snag, and we see all of that here. Abhishek Enterprise is the name on the paperwork, but most people just know us as the umbrella place. It gets very busy when the rains start unexpectedly. Everyone rushes in at once. We spend our days opening and closing umbrellas to show people how they work. The shop isn't modern or anything. It’s got old shelves and the lighting isn't the best, but it works for us. We've been in this building for years. My father used to sit in the same spot I do now. We talk to the other shopkeepers on the street and drink tea while waiting for customers. It's a lot of work keeping track of all the different patterns and sizes, but we've got a system. Nothing fancy, just a regular shop in a busy part of town where we try to keep people dry. We fix things too, if they aren't too far gone.
