Down in the Girgaon area of Mumbai, at 344 Thakurdwargirgaon, you’ll find our little place, Maadhavpriya Ayurvedic Clinic. Girgaon is one of those old, busy parts of the city where everyone is always on the move. We’ve set up our clinic here to focus on traditional Ayurvedic methods. It’s a modest space, not like those modern clinics in the malls. We have our jars of herbs and oils, and the smell of various natural preparations usually hangs in the air. People come to us from all over this part of Mumbai, often looking for something different than what they get at a standard pharmacy. We see a lot of elderly folks who have lived in these old buildings for decades, and they trust the old ways. It’s a lot of talking and understanding what’s going wrong with someone’s routine or diet. The streets outside are always noisy with traffic and people, but inside the clinic, we try to keep things a bit more grounded. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the walk here a bit difficult, but our regulars still show up. We don’t spend money on big ads or fancy signs. Word of mouth in a neighborhood like Girgaon is what keeps us going. It’s just a small Ayurvedic clinic trying to help our neighbors feel a bit better using the knowledge we’ve gathered over time.
