M T S Stores

You can find M T S Stores down at Reay Road 2, specifically in the Chakala Lakdi Bunder area near Darukhana. It’s a very industrial part of town, so there are always trucks moving around and people hauling stuff. Our place is right in the middle of it all. It’s not a clean or quiet office like you’d see in a movie. It’s a bit dusty and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it’s where we do our business. We’ve been here for years, and we know most of the other shop owners and workers on the street. It’s a tough neighborhood in some ways, but people look out for each other. We don't have a fancy website or a big advertising budget. People just know we’re here and they come to us when they need something. There’s about four of us who run the place. We don't have a lot of structure. We just do whatever needs doing at the moment. Some days we’re moving stock, other days we’re just sitting around waiting for the next delivery. It’s a lot of physical work and the hours can be long, but we’re used to it. We don't have air conditioning, just some big fans that keep the air moving. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’re proud of being part of the Reay Road community.
