Laxmi Art Jewellery

Laxmi Art Jewellery is located at Shop No 14 in Building No 160. We are right opposite the Shobha Hotel in Mahim. Even though it’s a small shop, we have a lot of items on display in the glass cases. To make sure they don't look dull under the lights, we spend a lot of time polishing the pieces. People usually come in looking for something to wear for a wedding or a party. Having a variety of designs is important, though we can't have everything in stock. When more than three people come in at once, the shop feels a bit small. Being in Mahim for a long time means we know the other shop owners on this block quite well. Sharing tea in the afternoons is a common thing. While the floor is a bit old and has some marks on it, we keep it swept. This is just a simple business without a big brand name. Showing the jewelry to anyone who is interested is something we enjoy. If a clasp needs repairing or a small chain needs fixing, we do it right there behind the counter. Living and working in this neighborhood is nice. We close up around eight usually, unless someone is still looking at things. Behind the counter, we keep a small stool for when our feet get tired after standing all day. It’s a quiet way to get by and meet local folks.
