L. Kant Electrical

L. Kant Electrical is sitting at 318, Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road in Girgaum. We are very close to Charni Road Station, so the area is always packed with people commuting. Directly across from us is Hinduja College, which means we see hundreds of students every day. Our shop is old-fashioned and packed to the ceiling with electrical supplies. We have everything from tiny fuses to thick rolls of wire. It can be hard to find things if you don’t know where to look, but we know every inch of the shelves. The ceiling fan hums quite loudly, especially in the summer. We’ve been part of the Girgaum neighborhood for a long time. People drop in not just to buy things, but sometimes just to ask for advice on a broken lamp or a flickery switch. The floor is made of old tiles that have seen a lot of foot traffic over the decades. We don’t have a computer system for everything; a lot of it is still kept in handwritten ledgers on the counter. The counter itself is worn smooth where people lean their elbows while they wait. It’s a busy, cramped, and noisy place, but it works for us. We listen to the trains passing by the station while we sort out the stock. It’s a very local way of doing business, right in the heart of the city’s bustle. We keep things simple and just focus on the wires.
