Kumud A Bhatia

Our place is located at 27 in the Sindhi Market area of Andheri East. Kumud A Bhatia is the name on the door, though most people around here just know us by where we sit. Sindhi Market is a tight-knit community and we have been part of it for a good while. The shop isn't very large, but we utilize every inch of space we have available. There are shelves reaching up to the ceiling and we often have to use a ladder to reach things. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at the same time. Andheri East is always busy, and the market even more so. You can hear the vendors outside and the general hum of the city all day long. We don’t have fancy lighting or air conditioning that works perfectly every day. Sometimes it gets a bit warm in the afternoons, but we just open the door and deal with it. It is a very local way of doing things. We know our neighbors and the people who walk past every morning. Most of our day is spent handling small details and talking to folks who drop in. We are not a big chain or anything like that. It is just a small family-style operation run out of a market stall. We have been here so long the walls have marks from years of moving things around.
