Komal Play School

We are over at Plot Number 337 or 357 in Borivali West. It is actually a raw house, number 37 to be exact, so it feels a lot more like a home than a big institution. We started this play school because there were many families around here needing a place for their toddlers. The rooms are filled with plastic toys and those colorful foam mats on the floor so the kids do not hurt themselves when they trip. It gets very noisy in the mornings when the parents drop them off. Some kids cry and do not want to let go while others just run straight for the blocks. We do our best to keep them busy with drawings and simple games. The kitchen area is used to keep their water bottles and snack boxes organized. It is not a huge place but it works for what we do. Being in a residential part of Mumbai means we know most of the neighbors and they see the kids playing every day. Sometimes the lane gets a bit crowded with cars during pickup time but everyone is used to it by now. We do not have fancy uniforms or anything, just a simple place for children to spend a few hours. The walls have some old posters and some of the kids' drawings taped up. It is just a plain, honest little school where things are kept simple for the little ones.
