Kishan Primary School Sunavli

We are up on the 5th floor of Raj Chambers on New Nagardas Road. Being in an office building in Andheri East is a bit different for a primary school. The kids have to take the lift or walk up the stairs every morning. It’s a bit of a climb, but we are used to it by now. The windows look out over the busy street below, so you can always hear the horns and the city noise. Inside the chambers, we have converted the rooms into classrooms. It’s not a typical school building with a big field, but we make it work. The hallways are a bit tight when everyone is leaving at once. We have a small area where parents can sit if they need to talk to a teacher. Most of the staff brings their own lunch and we eat together in a small break room. It’s a very tight-knit group. We don't have a big budget for extras, so we focus on the teaching. The light in the rooms is okay during the day. Sometimes the power goes out for a few minutes, but we just keep going. It’s a simple setup in a commercial building. People are often surprised to find a school on the 5th floor, but it’s been our home for a long time. It’s just how we do things here. We just keep our heads down and teach the children.
