Kilbil Play School

We are actually inside the Hi Life Mall on Sir Pm Road, at shop F-44. It’s a bit unusual for a play school like Kilbil Play School to be in a mall, but it’s actually quite convenient for a lot of parents in Santacruz West. We have this one unit where we’ve put down soft mats and filled the space with toys and small tables. Since we are in a mall, we don’t have to worry about the rain as much, which is a plus in Mumbai. The 400054 area is always buzzing, and you can hear the faint sound of shoppers outside our door. We spend our days watching the toddlers, making sure they don't wander out toward the escalators. It’s a compact space, so we have to keep it very organized, or it quickly becomes a mess of teddy bears and drawing paper. There’s no big sign out front, just our name on the door. We don’t have a lot of staff, just a few of us who really know the kids. Parents often drop their little ones off and then go do their errands in the mall. It’s a practical setup for city life. We keep a small fridge for their milk and snacks. It’s not a fancy preschool with a garden, but it’s safe and we keep the kids busy with songs and games all morning. Most days are fine, even if it gets a bit noisy with all the toys and games going on.
