Kidzee Preschool

This preschool is situated in Antop Hill, Mumbai. It’s a very crowded neighborhood, and our school is right in the thick of it. The 400037 area has a lot of families, so there are always kids around. The school itself is a simple place where we try to give the little ones something to do for a few hours. We have the usual brightly colored walls, but they’ve got some scuff marks from all the kids playing. The morning starts with a lot of shouting and running as everyone arrives. We don't have a fancy entrance or a lobby. You just walk in and you're in the middle of it. The teachers spend a lot of time helping kids with their lunch boxes and making sure they don't lose their shoes. It’s a lot of manual work, cleaning up spills and putting toys back in their bins. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just look after the kids and teach them a few things before they go home. The afternoon heat can be pretty intense in Antop Hill, so we try to finish up before it gets too hot. It’s a basic, honest place. We know the parents and they know us. There’s no big mystery to it. We just run a preschool for the local community and try to keep things moving along smoothly every single day.
