Our place, Kehems Engineering, is located at B 23 in Andheri West. Being in such a busy area means finding a parking spot is usually a headache. We have been here for a good amount of time. The workshop floor stays full of parts and tools. We do a lot of technical work, mostly metal stuff and engineering bits that people need. Inside, it gets hot during the summer, even with the fans going full blast. Heavy shoes are a must because you never know what might drop on your toes. Clanking sounds usually come from the back where the machines are. We aren't the type to have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in our work shirts with grease on our hands. Andheri West has changed a lot since we moved in, but our shop stays pretty much the same. Dealing with various vendors can be tricky, and sometimes the deliveries are late, which slows us down. It’s hard work, but we like seeing things get built. A small corner is kept just for the kettle to make tea. Most of the guys have been with us for years, so we know each other's families. It's just a regular engineering unit trying to get the jobs finished on time. When the rain leaks through the old roof, we move the machines around to keep them dry. We just make do with what we have.
