Karan Art Jewellery

Karan Art Jewellery is located in Jawahar Nagar, which is part of Andheri West. Andheri is always a whirlwind of activity, but Jawahar Nagar has its own specific pace. We have a lot of small drawers and display cases filled with different types of art jewellery. Most of our day is spent cleaning the pieces or arranging them so they look okay under the shop lights. It’s a small space, so we have to be very organized with where we put everything. If you drop something small on the floor, it takes a while to find it under the counters. We’ve been here for a bit, and we know many of the other shopkeepers on the block. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when the shop is empty just to watch the people go by. The weather in Andheri West can be quite humid, so the air conditioning is usually running most of the day. We aren't a big chain or anything, just a local spot where we take pride in the small details of the jewellery. It’s a lot of manual work, checking clasps and making sure things aren't tangled. We keep a radio playing softly in the background to keep us company while we work. The street noise is just part of the background now. We usually close up around eight in the evening once the streetlights are all on. It is a long day but the work is interesting enough to keep us coming back every morning.
