Kabana

We have been here at Shop No 4 for a good while now. The Rock House Bungalow is right behind National College in Khar West. It is a busy spot, especially when the students are out and about. Most mornings start with us opening the shutters and sweeping the front. You can see the college building from here if you stand in the right spot. Khar is always moving. Some days it gets quite loud with the traffic and people walking by to catch a train or head to class. We just stay here doing what we do. It is not a very big space but it works for us. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon but that is how it goes when you are busy. We know most of the people who walk past every day. It feels like a small community even though the city is huge. Sometimes the rain gets under the door if it is really coming down hard. We just put some old rags there and carry on. It is just a normal shop life. We are tucked away a bit behind the main bustle but people find us. It’s mostly just about showing up and making sure everything is in its place. Nothing fancy, just the way things have always been at Kabana. It is the kind of place where things stay the same while everything else changes.
