Jvl Designers is tucked away in the Dattani Apartment building on Shivaji Road. Specifically, we are in 5 A CHS in Kandivali West. Our office is quite close to the Santoshi Mandir, which is how most people figure out where we are. Shivaji Road can be pretty packed with vehicles and pedestrians, so it’s a typical Mumbai street scene right outside our door. We’ve been in this apartment-style office for a while now. It feels more like a home than a corporate suite, which is fine by us. We have our drawing boards and computers set up in a way that works for our design process. It’s not a polished showroom; it’s more of a place where actual work happens. You might find some sketches pinned to the walls or piles of catalogs on the floor. We spend a lot of time just thinking about how to make designs work for different spaces. Being in Kandivali West means we are around a lot of other local shops and residences. It’s a busy atmosphere, but once you step into Dattani Apartment, it gets a little quieter. We aren't interested in making a big show of things. We just stay in our corner, drink our tea, and get on with the designing. It’s a simple life here on Shivaji Road, and we’ve grown quite used to the rhythm of the neighborhood.
